Thermage Cellulite Treatment: Shaping Cellulite in One Simple Procedure
By Jardin Medical Spa
Published on May 03, 2010
Thermage cellulite treatment is an effective alternative to surgery or liposuction. Thermage is perfect for people who have been unsuccessful with diets and exercise, or even other cellulite treatments. Thermage is a single, non-surgical procedure that reduces cellulite appearance while tightening, firming, toning, contouring, and rejuvenating the skin. The Thermage procedure, which uses the ThermaCool system, is performed in Jardin Medical Spa's office. Immediate results can be visible; however, as new collagen is produced, your skin will continue to improve for up to six months. Unlike laser treatments, Thermage cellulite treatment can be performed on patients of all skin color.
Thermage Cellulite Treatment: How Does it Work
Thermage works by deep heating collagen fibers located in the lower layers of the skin and underlying tissue. During the Thermage procedure, the ThermaCool tip is gently applied to the skin, heating the deeper layers of skin. This uniform heat stimulates the creation of new collagen, while remodeling the existing collagen. Because of the natural aging process, collagen strands that normally provide support for the skin become loose and fat lobules become more visible. Thermage penetrates and stimulates these collagen strands to tighten skin, increase circulation, tone the skin surface, and reduce the appearance of cellulite.
The Thermage Procedure
Thermage is a non-invasive treatment performed only by medically trained professionals. Depending on the treatment area, the procedure could take as little as 45 minutes, or up to two hours for larger areas. Unlike laser treatments, a single Thermage cellulite treatment is often all that is required to meet the patient's needs and goals. Many Thermage patients, however, repeat the procedure every few years to ensure further improvement of their skin's appearance. Immediate results are visible but additional improvements continue over the next six months.
The Thermage procedure gives the patient a brief sensation of heat as the energy is transferred to the skin and tissue. This heat is an indicator that the collagen is reaching the correct temperature for tightening. The skin surface is cooled during each application of heat. Patients provide real-time feedback on the heat sensation experienced to guide the doctor to maximum results.
Thermage Safety Concerns
Thermage procedures have an excellent safety record. The most commonly reported side effects include swelling, redness, bumps, and occasionally blisters. These side effects subside in a few days. Consult with Jardin Medical Spa's expert staff regarding any questions you have on the safety of Thermage. There are other radiofrequency energy skin care technologies, but only Thermage delivers heat powerful enough to naturally tighten and contour skin and its underlying tissue. Thermage cellulite treatments achieve results in a one single session, compared to other comparable technologies which require multiple treatment sessions.
