It is possible for the grafts to be dislodged the first 10 days, that is why we recommend the “cup method” while washing your scalp. You need to be careful not to scrub your scalp during this period. To prevent dislodging of the grafts from your scalp fill a large pitcher or a large cup (approximately 32oz.) With warm water and mix in a tablespoonful of antidandruff shampoo. With head tilted back over sink, pour gently over grafts. Follow with warm water to rinse. Do not let water pressure from the shower hit the grafts. Taking care of the back of the scalp (donor area) you may touch and rub the suture line to clean using shampoo. It is ok to apply pressure to this area. Washing reduces the chance of scab formation which gives you acceleration of healing and normalcy of your scalp.
