It is said that smoking causes hair loss but people may be skeptical on if smoking does cause hair loss, or not. It is a proven FACT that smoking DOES cause hair loss.  An observational study has found that smoking can case hair loss and can even cause you to go bald. Dr. Kahen recommends if at all possible to stop smoking and chewing tobacco the week prior to surgery. Smokers should avoid or minimize nicotine and second-hand smoke for 48 hours prior to surgery. Nicotine is found in tobacco products such as cigarettes, cigars, pipe and chewing tobacco.

Smoking affects your hair follicle. It contains almost 4,000 lethal and damaging chemicals that can cause hair loss.  It also causes dull, lank and smelly hair. What happens is smoking stops the flow of an adequate amount of oxygen and nutrients through your blood. And because your hair does not get the right amount of nutrients, your hair becomes unhealthy and may also brake off
