Put me in Coach, I'm ready to Play

Some of you may know that I enjoy coaching. I love to share my knowledge (though it may be limited!) with the kids. The part that I also like is that we as adults can learn from the little ones as well. This story comes from Joel Osteen and his book “Your Best Life Now”. It illustrates how we can learn from our children.

There was a little boy with a bat and ball who proclaimed “I’m the best hitter ever!” He tossed the ball in the air, swung his bat and missed. “Strike one” he said. Once again he threw the ball into the air and swung. “Strike two”. He threw the ball into the air once more,  swung as hard as he could and… “Strike three”. The boy sat down, then with a look of glee, hopped up and proclaimed “Wow, I’m the best pitcher ever!”

Now talk about how our outlook affects everything. The saying is it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react. I bet this young man in the story will do well in his life because of his attitude. I know that times are challenging now, but we all will get through. Keep smiling and have a blessed month.
