I am very interested in having my teeth whitened. Is it safe and how long does it last?

Whitening your teeth is very safe as long as you follow the directions. The whitening procedures that your dentist can do give more dramatic and longer lasting results as compared to the over-the-counter products. Professional whitening usually lasts from six to nine months depending on your habits (smoking, coffee, etc.). Once the teeth start to darken again, a touch-up treatment can be done in the office or at home depending on the type of system used.
