Breast Augmentation Financing
All surgical procedures are generally considered to be expensive. The cost of the facility, the equipment, and the skilled professionals who administer anesthesia and perform the surgery often adds up to a significant sum. Most medical procedures, however, are at least partially covered by health insurance policies so patients do not have to pay all of the fees themselves. Elective surgeries, such as breast augmentation, are not covered by medical insurance. To keep from restricting the availability of their services to only the wealthy, many cosmetic surgeons participate in programs that provide complete breast augmentation financing to patients who cannot pay for the entire cost of breast augmentation surgery up front.
Affordable Breast Augmentation: Financing Options
There are one major program designed to help patients pay for their cosmetic surgery. CareCredit® is a nationwide program that provides full breast implant and augmentation financing for patients of participating surgeons. Your cosmetic surgeon may work with one of these organizations or may offer an independent financing program. You should discuss your financing options with your surgeon during your initial consultation.
CareCredit®
CareCredit® is a healthcare financing program designed to help patients pay for medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. It works by setting up a revolving line of credit, up to $25,000, which the patient can use to pay for any type of medical procedure – elective or medically necessary. A wide range of payment plans are available and designed to accommodate a patient’s budget. As a breast augmentation financing option, CareCredit® has the added benefit of allowing additional charges to be added, so long as the full line of credit has not been used.

How to Apply for Breast Implant Financing
No matter which program you use, the application process for breast implant surgery financing is fast and simple. In many cases, you can simply fill out a short form at your doctor’s office and someone on staff will submit it for you. Or, you can fill out the easy online application for either CareCredit® or Captial One® Healthcare Finance and your form at home. Either way, you’ll have an answer within minutes.
Other Payment Options
In addition to health care financing, patients can pay for breast augmentation with a personal loan or credit card. Both options work in a similar manner to financing. The lender pays the total cost of surgery to the plastic surgeon, and the patient in return pays the lender a monthly allotment to cover the cost of treatment. The major disadvantage to credit cards and loans is that the patient must pay off the cost of treatment, plus interest. Before you choose this option, be aware of the interest rates involved with personal loans and credit cards.
