Dentists
Dr. Schultz's love of engineering and high technology has inspired him to use the newest in diagnostic and treatment technology. He has utilized computerized digital radiography for over 5 years, allowing his patients to experience a 90% reduction in radiation exposure, while being able to see their x-rays enlarged on the computer monitor. Dr. Schultz uses a digital camera to create an image of each patient, showing possible esthetic treatment outcomes. He also utilizes the Diagnodent laser, which permits diagnosis of tooth decay while it is very small, long before it can be found by traditional means (the dreaded hook!). Where possible, Dr. Schultz uses air abrasion to remove tooth decay, often without the need for anesthesia. He has not used silver amalgam (mercury fillings) since 1996. Dr. Schultz strives to help the patient have a natural smile, and not look like they have seen a dentist. That is his definition of functional aesthetic dentistry. He very strongly believes that there is no honor in pain. All patients are listened to and believed on this point. If you are feeling a procedure, he will stop and make sure that you don't feel anything.
Dr. Schultz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1980, and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in 1985 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
