About Our Cosmetic Dermatology Practice

Shelly A. Friedman, D.O., FAOCD, is board certified in Dermatology and Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr. Friedman received his B.A. in Psychology at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. He received his D.O. degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. While in medical school, Dr. Friedman received a National Institute of Health Fellowship in Psychiatry. After medical school he completed a one year Rotating Internship at Pontiac Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. This was followed by a three year Residency in Dermatology at Pontiac Hospital/Michigan State University. After completing his training, Dr. Friedman opened the Scottsdale Institute for Cosmetic Dermatology in September, 1986. Dr. Friedman has concentrated his practice to cosmetic dermatology establishing himself as one of the world’s leaders and teachers in hair restoration surgery. He has been featured on NBC Today with Matt Lauer, numerous interviews on ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox as well as having been featured in Vogue, Longevity, and The Arizona Republic.
