About Our Cosmetic/Plastic Surgery Practice

Dr. Brian D. Peterson is an experienced, knowledgeable, and qualified plastic surgeon serving Kelowna, BC. He has been in practice for more than 15 years and dedicates himself to providing each and every one of his patients with the highest standard of care. He received his B.S. in anatomy from the University of Saskatchewan, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1984, graduating with distinction. He fulfilled his basic medical training with a rotating internship at the Royal Columbia Hospital in New Westminster.

After his internship was complete, Dr. Peterson underwent resident training in plastic surgery from 1986 to 1991, at the University of British Columbia. Once his specialty exams with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons were successfully completed, he underwent additional advanced fellowship training in the United States, focusing on aesthetic cosmetic surgery.

After his fellowship training in breast augmentation and aesthetic surgery in 1992, Dr. Peterson entered practice as a plastic surgeon in Kelowna. He still helms his practice today. The primary focus of his practice is aesthetic cosmetic plastic surgery. To meet the needs of his patients, Dr. Peterson performs nearly 500 cosmetic surgical procedures each year, an average of more than one per day. He lectures internationally to colleagues and peers, and is considered to an expert in the field of cosmetic surgery. The Okanagan Plastic Surgery Centre in Kelowna, British Columbia was created by Dr. Peterson to allow him to provide his patients with an environment of excellence dedicated to cosmetic surgery.

Befitting his experience and skills, Dr. Peterson is certified by and a member of a number of prestigious institutions. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is also certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Peterson is the medical director of the Okanagan Health Surgical Centre, and has full consulting and surgical privileges at Kelowna General Hospital. The Okanagan Plastic Surgery Centre is a private surgical facility that provides non-hospital elective surgical services for residents of the Interior of British Columbia.
