Family Balancing Opportunity at IVF NJ
Posted on 01/16/2012 11:32:00
The physicians and staff of IVFNJ are pleased to offer family balancing opportunities to couples. At the same time, we take great care to preserve and respect the moral integrity of pre-embryos created in the IVF lab and the use of medical technology for non-medical purposes. To that end we abide by the recommendations of the governing body of assisted reproduction in the US, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), that states “the most prudent approach at present for the non-medical use of these techniques (IVF/PGD for family balancing) would be to use them only for gender variety in a family, i.e., only to have a child of the gender opposite of an existing child or children.” (Fertility and Sterility Journal, Vol. 75, No. 5, May 2001. Ethics Committee Report)

We are happy to announce "Men Having Babies - Europe" at the Second European Conference of the Network of European LGBT Family Associations (NELFA). It will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2012, as part of a 4 day conference near Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Susan Treiser has been invited to speak at the event.
In recent years we have witnessed a growing interest in surrogacy among European gays. Around the continent there are dramatic social changes with advances in LGBT rights, visibility and social acceptance, and a growing desire to become parents. Leading and benefiting from these trends are the LGBT family associations around the continent, many of whom established in the last few years. The umbrella organization, NELFA, grew from 7 members in 2009 to 20 today. In the first European wide conference in Paris over 500 people participated, and the event enjoyed unprecedented attention from public figures and the media.

The Biological Clock Waits for No One
Posted on 07/28/2011 16:05:00
By Dr. Sasmira Lalwani, Reproductive Endocrinologist - IVF New Jersey
When you are 21 years old 90% of your eggs are normal. At age 41 90% of your eggs are abnormal making the dream of having a child often impossible.
Despite all of the choices that have opened up to women in the past few decades, there remains one sad reality: the biological clock waits for no one.
