Dr. Young was born in Calgary, Alberta but spent most of his school years in Montreal, Quebec. There, he attended McGill University from which he earned his M.D., C. M. In 1979, Dr. Young moved to Toronto, Ontario to undertake his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto. He completed this in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Young served as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery of the Calgary District Hospital Group until May of 1993 when he moved to Oregon and began his private practice. Dr. Young has extensive plastic surgery experience.

Dr Young enjoys sculpting, downhill skiing, and beekeeping on his Ranch where he lives with his wife.
