About Our Eye Care Practice
"I believe Florida Eye Associates has been successful because we put our patients first." - Dr. William J. Broussard
Dr. William J. Broussard founded Florida Eye Associates in 1967. He started our practice with the goal of providing Brevard County patients with quality eye care services. Over time, Dr. Broussard expanded the practice to include additional physicians and subspecialists to serve the Melbourne, Florida area's eye care needs. Today, we offer treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and many other eye conditions. Some of the most popular treatments that we offer include:
LASIK: According to a report that was published by the Archives of Ophthalmology, it is estimated that about half of adults over the age of 20 have some type of refractive error that results in less than perfect vision. LASIK surgery corrects myopic, hyperopic, and astigmatic errors to eliminate or reduce blurry vision in patients. In fact, many patients that undergo LASIK surgery achieve 20/20 vision.
Cataract Surgery: Did you know that all adults eventually develop cataracts? Patients generally notice that cataracts impair their vision when they reach the age of 55 and older. During cataract surgery, our surgeons remove the lens that is affected by cataracts and replace it with an intraocular lens implant.
IOL Placement: Intraocular lenses, or IOLs, are replacement lens devices that are implanted in patients undergoing treatment for presbyopia or cataracts. At Florida Eye Associates, we employ use of premium IOLs that produce clear vision at all distances. Multifocal and accommodative IOLs can be placed in cataract and presbyopia patients, giving them the ability to see clearly when they are focusing on near and distant objects.
Contact our Melbourne area offices today to undergo treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, or refractive errors.
