Dr. Nelson has performed thousands of LASIK procedures. He started the first refractive surgery center in the Army in 2000, and has received numerous honors and recognitions for his work in refractive surgery, as well as his career in the military. Dr. Nelson has performed LASIK and PRK on the most elite soldiers in the military, commercial airline pilots, as well as many other physicians, including other refractive surgeons. He was also chosen by the leading laser manufacturer in the U.S. to train other physicians to perform refractive laser surgery. Dr. Nelson is certified to use Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, IntraLase, Nidek, VISX, and Wavelight laser platforms that enable him to find the best fit for each patient’s unique corrective surgery.

Dr. Straub has performed thousands of LASIK procedures. He has been involved in the infancy and development of other vision improving technologies. Dr. Straub has been extremely dedicated to ongoing research and education being part of Michigan State University’s clinical faculty as a Refractive Surgery Fellowship Trainer. He has supervised FDA clinical trials and has written a textbook chapter on LASIK eye surgery. Dr. Straub is certified to use Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, IntraLase, and VISX laser platforms that enable him to find the best fit for each patient’s unique corrective surgery.
