Welcome back to this special edition of DocShop TV----coming to you this month from the WaveHouse in Mission Beach here in beautiful San Diego.

Well-- studies show that more and more people are choosing plastic surgery as a legitimate option to look better in a variety of ways. In fact—the number of people who inquired about having plastic surgery just a couple of months ago was a third higher than from the same time period last year.

That got us thinking-- are the stereotypes associated with plastic surgery different than they used to be?

DocShop producer Adrienne Ziegler----wanted desperately to be a part of the show---so we gave her this assignment---in a segment we like to call, Yo Adrienne.

How did I know---if I mentioned plastic surgery to beach goers that there would be one primary theme that I would hear over and over and over again! Boobs, boob jobs, boob jobs awesome.

“Boob jobs”

“What would you think if your girlfriend went out to get a breast augmentation, would you think less of her?”

“No, I’d think the same of her but it would be better in the---behind the doors!”

“What about you?”

“Well, if that’s what she wants, it’s fine with me!

Boob jobs---I mean---breast augmentations aside---we marched on….and had nooooo problem getting a wide range of opinions on what people really think about plastic surgery in 2008!

What do you think has changed over the past 10-15 years of plastic surgery, what’s different now?

"It’s more accessible now I would think, more affordable, it’s been glamorized in TV and movies---hopefully it’s more healthy”

"Would either of you ever consider plastic surgery?"

“Yes, probably, yah.”

“How do you think people’s perceptions have changed over the past 10-15 years?

About plastic surgery?"

“Uh, I think it’s way more accepted than it ever was.”

“Years ago, you probably knew one person that did something nowadays you can number numerous people that do it you know? Just as young as she was saying 18, they’re getting boobs, you know, and everything, you know what I mean its different now, I mean, there’s perfection out there.”

“As men would you ever consider getting plastic surgery?”

“What’s that got to do with us? Hahahahahahaa”

“Have you had anything done?"

“Not yet. Working on it? Soon. If you had to have something done what would you fix?”

“What would I fix? Oh, there ain’t nothing to fix.”

“I see that Ryan has a tattoo here”

“I do”

“Would you ever consider getting rid of that tattoo?”

“I don’t think so it has meaning to me and so….”

“What if you were like 45 and you’ve had a couple kids and you’re thinking….”

“Well, if it’s all saggy and nasty then I’ll probably have it taken away.”
