Welcome to DocShop's Patient Education Page devoted to Intacs Corneal Inserts.
Less invasive than laser eye surgery, Intacs Inserts can help patients with mild nearsightedness or keratoconus, an eye disease resulting in the progressive thinning of corneal tissue.
The procedure works by reshaping the cornea without removing corneal tissue. Then, your physician will inser the clear, prescription Intacs in the periphery of the cornea.
These FDA-approved inserts can also be removed or replaced as needed to adjust for vision changes.
The placement of Intacs Corneal Inserts typically takes about an hour.
The inserts are designed to allow light to focus on the retina and provide clear, crisp vision.
For more information on Intacs Corneal Inserts, including details on the procedure, consult our patient education web-page and contact an Intacs Specialist in your area through DocShop.
