Here are some commonly asked questions and answers about LASIK surgery: is the procedure safe? If you are a good candidate, yes. LASIK averages a 95 percent success rate among most experienced LASIK surgeons.
What about pain? LASIK is typically a near-painless procedure, and any mild discomfort can usually be controlled with medication.
What are the risks of LASIK? Common side effects include starbursts; glare and night vision difficulties, and foreign body sensation. Most of these are temporary and should pass within days or weeks of surgery. About one-to-two percent of LASIK patients have permanent side effects.
