Nicole Kidman Admits Past Botox Use, Claims She's Off It Now
Actress Nicole Kidman has decided it's time to admit that she used Botox® Cosmetic, now that she says she's decided not to use it anymore. It seems she didn't like the feeling of having her skin stretched to an unnatural tightness.
Kidman began denying Botox® Cosmetic use in 2007, in an interview with Marie Clare magazine. She came clean recently in an interview with the German magazine TV Movie.
In 2007, she said, "To be honest, I am completely natural. I have nothing in my face or anything. I wear sunscreen, and I don't smoke. I take care of myself."
This year, she said, ""I've tried a lot of things, but apart from working out and a good diet, most things don't help. I even tried Botox."
She also said, ""I didn't like how my face looked afterward. Now I don't use it anymore -- and I can move my forehead again."
Television personality Sharon Osbourne chided Kidman for her denials in 2008, saying Kidman's forehead looked like a flat screen TV.
Dr. Martin Braun of Vancouver, British Columbia, a Botox® specialist, uses photos of Kidman in lectures, as examples of the drug's use in paralyzing facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles. He says her unnaturally arched eyebrows were an indicator. Braun says it's a common side effect, especially with heavy doses.
