Facelift

Sagging, wrinkled skin can drastically age your appearance as your features continue to lose definition.

A facelift can smooth wrinkles as well as tighten and tone skin to restore youthful facial contours.

Let's discuss the benefits of a facelift...

A Facelift Can Revitalize Your Appearance and Your Confidence

Achieve a More Youthful Look

By removing excess skin and smoothing wrinkles, your doctor can address the telltale signs of aging that cause you to look tired or unhealthy.

Improve Facial Definition

By tightening underlying facial muscles, your doctor can improve existing contours, including the jawline, for more prominent features and improved facial definition.

Increase Self-Esteem

A facelift can turn back the hands of time. Rejuvenating your appearance can help you look younger, healthier, and more rested, often providing a renewed sense of self-confidence.

These results look great! How can I find out if I qualify for a facelift?

Understanding Your Facelift Candidacy

Signs of Aging

Facelifts target the face and neck and are recommended for substantial signs of aging like wrinkles and loose skin.

Skin Elasticity

While most patients can qualify for a facelift, the best results are seen in patients who have some degree of skin elasticity.

Smoking

Because nicotine undermines healing, complications are much more common for smokers.

Realistic Expectations

There is only so much that any procedure can do, so it is important to have realistic goals.

The Results Sound Incredible but Aren't Facelifts Expensive?

Asset 6

As of 2016, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) estimates the average cost of a facelift is $7,048. The cost of surgery is typically dependent upon certain factors such as the extent of your procedure, operating room facilities, and your surgeon's experience. In most cases, a facelift will not be covered by your insurance. However, many doctors offer financing to help make treatment more affordable.

So, what happens during a facelift?

Typically, a facelift takes about three to four hours. However, this depends on whether you are also including any other procedures such as eyelid surgery or cheek implants, which could substantially impact treatment time.

Results You Can Take Pride in

Every facelift is customized to the goals of the patient. Whether you hope to eliminate sagging skin, smooth out wrinkles around your mouth, or remove drooping fat tissue, a facelift should create the look that best suits you. Ideally, a facelift will not only refine your facial features, but also help you to take greater confidence in your appearance.

After Surgery: What to Expect

Recovery and maintenance are essential for a successful facelift. Immediately after your surgery, the doctor will typically place bandages to reduce swelling and bruising and prescribe medications to take. While you can usually return home the same day, your doctor will schedule a number of follow-up appointments over the following weeks.

You should be able to return to your normal routine within 10 to 14 days of surgery, although it will take about two to three months before you feel back to normal. To maintain results, patients should stay on top of sun protection, sustain a healthy lifestyle, and follow instructions for post-surgical care as closely as possible. Nonsurgical treatments, such aslaser skin resurfacing and BOTOX®,can prolong your results, as well.

Your May Have Several Options to Rejuvenate Your Appearance

A facelift is the most extensive facial cosmetic surgery and is often recommended for patients who seek more dramatic results. However, patients who wish to only address certain areas of the face may benefit from a mini or mid facelift. A mini facelift focuses on the lower third of the face and jawline while a mid facelift is centralized around the under eye area, cheeks, and smile lines. Your long-term goals and concerns can help determine whether a full facelift is the best treatment for you.

A facelift can refresh your appearance while preserving the unique features that define you. To learn more about the facelift process, schedule a consultation with your doctor.
